A young rapper in Detroit struggles with his anger and social status through music.
Rating:7/10 One of the things I've heard people say that have bashed this movie, is that they say Eminem really didn't have to stretch himself as an actor. Well ya know what, so what. He still did an excellent job. His performance and this movie was tons better than 50 Cent and Get Rich or Die Tryin. Sure this wasn't the best movie around. Sure, it a by the numbers kind of movie. Sure it is predictable as any sports movie or anything of the sort that has an underdog in an uphill battle. But when you are watching a movie like this, you have to ask yourself if you are being entertained? I know I was. This was a very fun movie to watch. I loved the chemistry that Eminem had with the rest of the cast as well. I really got into the rap battles and found myself rooting for Eminem's character even though I just knew he was going to win. How could you not know? Anyway, the cast was excellent and I really liked all the characters in this movie. I really liked Cheddar Bob. The relationship with the two brothers Sol and DJ Izy were pretty funny as they were just opposites. I also liked how the relationship with Eminem and Brittany Murphy turned out. That one kind of caught me off guard, though. The relationship that Em's character has of his little sister, Lily, was quite touching, especially when he was getting a beatdown. This is a fun one to watch, and it is very enjoyable. But you have to realize that this isn't a family film though as well. So beware of that, but watch and enjoy. I know I will probably watch this again.
