Rating:8/10 Watching From Dusk til Dawn is like watching two movies. The first one is a crime thriller. It is very brutal. If you are a fan of anything Quentin Tarantino does, you will love this first part. It is brutal and blood fun. The second part is taken over by Robert Rodriguez who turns this into a horror movie a la Evil Dead. The first part of the movie grabs you and will choke you. I've shown this movie to many women, and their response to Tarantino's character is total disgust. Which shows he did a great job with his role as the rapist and murdering Richie Gecko. George Clooney pretty much shown that he is the man. Not an unknown, but people were not knocking on his door for movie roles until this movie was released and he showed he could hold his own against some great actors. Harvey Keitel also showed why he is one of the best actors available today. He was given some really bad and stupid lines, and he made them sound like gold. Ernest Liu on the other hand was given some bad lines and gave a bad performance. When the second part of the movie starts, it becomes a pure horror movie. Problem was, the make up and effects were not that great, not as great as it should have been. The fight scenes were so highly unrealistic, like fighting vampires is realistic, right. With the weapons they chose to use on the vampires, everyone should have been wiped out in about five minutes. But still, the actiong was of high quality, you could forgive a lot of the flaws this movie had.
