When Dan O'Grady returns to the U.S. after stealing some Irish leprechaun's pot of gold, he thinks he can settle down and enjoy his newfound wealth. He thought wrong. The leprechaun followed him and O'Grady barely gets away with his life, having locked the little monster in his basement. Ten years later, J.D. and his spoiled daughter Tory move in. By accident, the leprechaun is released and almost immediately the annoying creature starts to look for his gold, not displaying any respect for human life.
Rating:3/10 Leprechaun is one of those movies that it is so bad, you have to laugh. I mean that this is so bad, it is Mystery Science Theater 3000 bad. This had some horrible acting from everyone except Warwick Davis, who looked like he was having a ball playing the evil leprechaun. Somebody should tell Ken Olandt, that when you leg is caught in a bear trap for even five minutes, that your leg is going to hurt when the leprachaun is chasing you. When Davis was chasing Olandt, Olandt was just straight up running. You would think that if your leg was in a bear trap for a short period of time, you would be limping, but not Olandt. The usual reliable Mark Holton, was reduced to playing a mentally challenged person, and even he was horrible. Jennifer Aniston was beyond annoying. I bet she doesn't look back to this film at all. The script was so bad, but it was unintentionally funny. There was so many things wrong with this script. Watching the leprechaun riding a go cart, a small tricycle, a wheelchair was funny, because they sped it up, kind of like the Three Stooges when they were running. But it was completly stupid. If you want a good laugh and want a movie that tries to take itself seriously, but fails miserably, watch this hunk of junk.
