Zombie movies are not just my favorite sub genre in the horror genre, but it is my favorite to watch out of most movies. So I'm usually a bit kinder to them. I guess that is kind of my weakness. Zombie movies are more intense for me and are the only kind of nightmares that I get that bother me. So if you are reading a zombie movie for me, my score is a bit biased. But I thought this was a very well done and well thought out movie. I mean, as far as the government goes, I'm pretty sure this is the kind of SPIN that they would use to keep the American people under wraps. Even with the blogs and videos that are now available, it makes you wonder who is lying and who is telling the truth. There wasn't as much gore as I though there would have been for this movie, as it seemed kind of tame. The acting wasn't the best, but it wasn't all bad either. The best character in this movie was Samuel the deaf Amish guy. I think he was put there for comic relief and it worked pretty well. I would've have liked to seen a bit more of his adventure of fighting the undead as far as being not only deaf, but Amish as well. One of the things I do find annoying when watching a movie made from the POV from one of the characters via a camera, is that doesn't make all that sense as to what they are trying to accomplish. Towards the end, the guy running the camera was just about willing to let the girl be killed just so he could get his shot, which was supposedly close to the student film he was trying to make. The ending was kind of abrupt as you really don't know the fate of the survivors of this story, but I guess you can use your own imagination for something like that. Not too bad of a movie, as it really kept me on the edge of my seat, and I really love it. Welcome back to making a good zombie movie Mr. Romero.
