While I was watching this movie, I really had some mixed feelings. I love movies that Alfred Hitchcock made. I have a lot of his older movies and I loved just about every one. I have enjoyed the movies he made in during the silent era, his movies in the thirties. I have his television show, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, season one and two. Don't know if season three has been released. I loved the books that had his name on them, especially the Three Investigators. I real almost all of those books in junior high as they had the complete collection in their library. But while watching the Birds I had mixed feelings. Sure I enjoyed the movie. I was right there on the edge of my seat as I was watching this when the birds were attacking the people because it was so realistic looking. It amde me think what I would do in that situation. Hitchcock did not need CGI. I did not care much for the characters. I actually found them rather boring, so when the birds weren't attacking, I found myself getting bored with these people. And that really slowed the movie down as this movie was almost two hours long. But the ending of this movie was awesome. That was a lot of birds. I don't know how Hitchcock did it, and I really don't want to know because I don't want that illusion spoiled for me, but what was done with the birds was amazing. I am not looking forward to the remake next year, because I know it is going to be a lazy effort with the CGI. This is going to be a pointless remake such as The Fog. I loved The Fog, but that remake wanted me to pull out my hair. And if you think that was bad, the remake of Psycho must have had Hitchcock spinning in his grave. But this still wasn't such a bad movie, but I felt it was one of Hitchcock's weaker stories due to the characters, not the situation because that was very intense, But what the heck, even Hitchcock's weaker moments are much better than most filmmakers better movies.
