Rating:4/10 Pulse has a very interesting premise, but that is about it. The thing with the premise though is that it has been explored, recently with movies and books like The Ring(Ringu), The Cell and Stay Alive. I kow the Japense version of Pulse has been relesed before Stay Alive, but I'm making a point here. This is nothing new. The real problem is that this is a cookie cutter type movie aimed at teens. I have no problem with that, but this is another piece of proof that horror movies cannot be PG-13. They are not scary. You can throw any kind of mood music you want, you can go ahead and make as many loud crashes you want during a silent period, you can go ahead and tell the audience they have to use their imagination, but at what point do we say, hey, I'm paying you to entertain me and scare me and you throw this crap at me. Sorry, got off on a tangent here. There is nothing memorable about this movie. The acting was ok, but nothing that sticks out. The mood the movie tried to create just didn't help. they tried to use as little color possible without making this a black and white film and that was distracting. This was just a plain old boring film. Nothing to get excited about.
