Rating:6/10 The idea for this movie was another one with a ton of potential. Thie idea for this movie could have been done on several different genres from horror, drama, supernatural and thriller. The Night Listener focused on the thriller genre though. The fact that this was based on true events also makes this kind of a scary situation as well. The fact that the director had the cast he has, this should have been a sure hit. But with this cast it was a miss. The movie was slow paced and it shouldn't have been for 81 minutes. It should have been quicker than what it felt like. I was quite suprised by the amount of foul language that was used by Rory Culkin. Yeah whatever, that is how I feel. It felt like it was forced and overdone. The movie though could have used a hot in the arm as far as suspense goes. It needed a little something to goose yu and to bring your interest back into this film. But alas, it was wasted. It never really reached its full potential. Not too bad though, but the ending could have been a bit better as well.
