Baby Bink couldn't ask for more; he has adoring (if somewhat sickly-sweet) parents, he lives in a huge mansion, and he's just about to appear in the social pages of the paper. Unfortunately, not everyone in the world is as nice as Baby Bink's parents; especially the three enterprising kidnapers who pretend to be photographers from the newspaper. Successfully kidnaping Baby Bink, they have a harder time keeping hold of the rascal, who not only keeps one step ahead of them, but seems to be more than a little bit smarter than the three bumbling criminals.
Rating:4/10 The Three Stooges meet Mr. Magoo as a baby. Or the Three Stooges meet Macaulay Culkin as a baby. But of course this was directed by John Hughes and you can tell. This was probably Hughes weakest movie that I've seen. When you see something directed by John Hughes, it is very predictable. Not saying that it is a bad thing, because he does do some very funny movies, but this had more misses than hits. It also seemed to be directed more towards kids under the age of five. This is basically a one joke movie for 99 minutes. It has some decent performances by Mantegna and Pantoliano, but that is where it stops. Those two and the other criminal really had to carry the movie. Even though they had a couple of laugh out loud jokes, this just really didn't work.
