In a post-apocalyptic American society, the population has been decimated by nuclear terrorist attacks and flesh-dissolving nuclear fallout. Among the ruins, a naive young teenager named Peggy gets involved with a drug-stoked biker and his friends, against her overprotective mother's protests. The teens hang out at the Doom Room, a punk rock nightclub, where re-animated corpses from the nuclear attacks perform courtesy of electric-charged flows and experimental drug-injected shots.
Rating:8/10 This is a very bizarre tale from Tobe Hooper. There were several uneasy scenes that got under my skin a bit. Watching this, the ending had a very bizarre twist as well, one that I did not see coming. The zombies in this movie are very different than the usual zombie fare. They are not flesh eaters. Robert Englund was great as his character was a sleazeball and Jessica Lowndes really developed very well from just a innocent girl to a world weary young woman. One thing this movie doesn't have is a postive ending, so if you are looking for a happily ever after horror story, find something else, cause this sure isn't for you.
