This was a low budget movie that I really didn't have high expectations for. I thought that this was going to be a bit fo a bore to watch. But this movie reminded quite a bit of the cheesy eighties movies, especially those that starred eighties scream queen Leanna Quigley. But what this had that those movies didn't was tension. The tense moments when the character of Ellen was chased by the Nightmare Man from the car to the house. Those moments were pretty intense. And just when it seemed as if the Nightmare Man had Ellen in his grasp, shw would somehow get away and the chase would begin again. And that kept building up the tension more and more. The real problem of this movie though, is that some of the acting was not all that great. It seemed to forced and that they were trying to make themselves stand out as much as possible. Of course, more praise goes to Tiffany Shepis as she is becoming more of the Leanna Quigley of the 2000's. The story itself wasn't too bad, but it was unoriginal. Think The Mask crossed with The Evil Dead and you have The Nightmare Man. Like I said, not a whole lot of originality. There were a couple of twists, but those were quite predictable. What wasn't predictabel was the order in which the characters were killed. They kind of defied the logic of the horror movie genre with that part anyway. This isn't the worst movie I ever saw, but this wasn't that great either. It could have been better, but with a low budget that it had, it was adequate.
