This was the most original zombie movie I have ever seen. The story in itself is almost like a sequel from Shaun of the Dead, but it is set in the 1950's after the great zombie wars. It started off that way with the educational film from Zomcom, which was hilarious. More of a dark comedy than a horror movie, even though it does have some scenes of horror, it focuses on the comedy aspects of this. Even though this movie was predictable, it kind of made me wonder where this story was going. The cast was awesome as well. Billy Connolly was awesome as Fido who was a zombie and he made it seem like he was really a family friend like a pet. He seemed more emotionally involved with the family than the kids father. Tim Blake Nelson was hilarious as the perverted neighbor who kept a female zombie half his age. I was surprised to see Carrie-Anne Moss in this movie, as she also added great depth to this movie. The occasional horro scene that was placed in this movie added some decent gore to this. I also really loved the Lassie feel that this movie brought as well. Such as when Timmy was in trouble, Fido would go get help and try to communicate that to the members of the family, where he would eventually lead the family to where Timmy was in trouble. Really well worth watching, you won't be disapoointed either way.
