I have watched many different kind of horror movies. I've seen many brutal and gory movies. Hardly any of them have ever affected me though. But sitting through this was a whole other level. It was because of my faith and I took the crucifixtion for granted. I think we all have. That is why people need to see this. To kind of reestablish their faith. I know it did it for me. This is a very important movie for Christians. Once again, as with the Nativity Story, nothing was compromised or romanticized for Hollywood. I cannot even imagine the nightmare that Jesus has gone through for my sins. The parts with Satan were extremely creepy. This was so well done, and in another language that people don't normally use. I don't believe it needed to be translated. People would have understood what was going on. Many, many kudos to Jim Caviezel for taking the role of Jesus. From what I understand he took quite a beating and was even struck by lightening twice. This movie was so well acted though that everyone deserves special mention for their roles. The brutality of the imagery will live in my mind for the rest of my life though and it will be a constant reminder of what Jesus did for me. There were many times I wanted to turn away but I just couldn't do it. An amazing movie that was so well done. Absolutley unforgettable.
