I was pleasantly surprised by this movie.  I had picked it up at Walmart after having a little too much to drink one night.  In the morning, I checked out my purchases and noticed this.  I felt the dread in my heart over this.  This is going to be another piece of garbage.  This wasn't as bad as I thought though.  The movie started off at a graduation that tried a little too hard to be American Pie with its dialogue.  The charm of that wore off very quickly, but thankfully the cast set off for the haunted house.  Now the suspense that was built up was pretty good before each kill.  I even found myself on the edge of my couch twice.  The acting was nothing great as it seemed as if the teenagers were overacting a little bit, while the adults or the ghosts of the movie were pretty good.  But with the young cast, most of them have already broken out and have been in severeal big screen productions.  We all have to start somewhere is the saying.  The special effects were alright for this kind of movie.  It did have some low production values, but it was covered up alright.  Maybe worth a rental, but not worth buying.  Also what helped is that I had real low expectations, so I guess you can go nowhere but up.
