Running Time
1997 Starring Bruce Campbell, Jeremy Roberts, Anita Barone, William Stanford Davis, Art LaFleur Rated R 70 Minutes
Carl, an ex-con who sets out to rob the prison laundry system where he worked for 5 years (while in the pen), has spent ten years in prison planning the ultimate heist. Upon his release, he meets up with a high school buddy, who's made all the arrangements for the job, and rented him a hooker for his first encounter in a decade with a real girl. After picking up the safecracker and their getaway driver, they've got twenty minutes to pull off the perfect heist...but soon everything falls apart before Carl's eyes. He might still get the girl, though!
Rating:7/10 What makes Running Time such a unique movie is that it is shot in real time and in one continuous shot. It was well done. It seemed as if the caast and crew we up for the moment as this was a pretty decent film. You could tell that it was cheaply made, but the quality of the cast brought it back up. Boy, you give Bruce Campbell a challenge and he always seems to respond well. Anita Barone, who was in the Jeff Foxworthy Show, was excellent in her role. I thought she had more passion in this than she did in Foxworthy's television show. The script was tight and well written with some very amusing moments of the men involved in the heist arguing amongst themselves. The problem with the movie is that it is too short. Yeah, it has an unbelievable pace, but you don't really get to see the characters develop all that well. This was a well developed indie picture that is worth taking the time to watch and get into.
