This is a classic movie that had some of the all time great actors in it, such as James Cagney, Pat O'Brien and Humphrey Bogart. James Cagney really takes over and commands attention in every scene he is in. The Dead End Kids are also very memorable, especially in the pool hall and on the basketball court. Cagney's character really kept those boys in line with slapstick kind of abuse, which was funny and it seemed as if it was something that those kids needed. One of the great cinematic moments is the ending as it makes you think and it also makes you ask yourself questions in which you have to try and provide the answers on your own. You will know it when you see and it still sticks in my head even though I haven't seen this movie in almost twenty years. This is a very fun and a fast paced movie with a message and a heart. It is well written and worth the hour and a half that is involved with this. Go ahead and treat yourself to this classic.
