This is basically just an above average vampire movie. There were a couple of new things involved with this though. There were soem new special effects that were used to turn Dracula into a bat and turn Dracula from mist in monster. Also, the setting was placed in America. Lon Chaney Jr. wasn't too bad as the son of Dracula. He really didn't have that European accent down, nor was he intimidating using facial expression as the other vampires were. The only thing imposing about Chaney was the fact that he is a rather large man. The cast was alright, even though no one really stood out and there were a couple of moments where there was no political correctness, but those were the times. Not making excuses for that though. Not as much fun to watch as the other vampire movies that were made during its time, but still watchable.
