His Private Secretary
1933 Starring Evalynn Knapp, John Wayne, Alec B. Francis, Reginald Barlow Not Rated 56 Minutes
Dick Wallace wants to marry a minister's grand-daughter but his father, who wants him to get work on his company's business, is opposed. She takes a job with the company to prove she's okay.
Rating:3/10 John Wayne in a romatic comedy? Sounds weird doesn't it. But he was. This is a pretty weak story. And there isn't much for laughs in this unbelievable story. The one scene where John wayne is checking out a secretary's legs was pretty amusing and the little kid who was a thorn in Wayne's side as he was trying to woo Evalynn Knapp was also pretty funny. There wasn't much to this story and it had the potential to be likable, but it wasn't. Nothing much to see unless you want to see John Wayne in something very different for him.
