A movie that was considered the best of the horrorfest movies and I can see why. Not just because the line up was kind of weak for this years lineup, but this was still a pretty good movie with a good concept. But as far as a horror movie goes, this was more of an origin story for a comic book character than a horror movie.. It was kind of fun watching the mystery of Ian Stone as you are trying to find out why The "Harvesters" are trying to kill him everyday. This movie grabbed my sttention from the get go. AThere were times when I was just kind of rolling my eyes a bit, but it was still a good watch. Mike Vogel(from Grounded for Life and Cloverfield) really carried this movie on his shoulders quite well and shows that he has the makings of a having a good career. The rest of the cast was pretty good as well.. Even with the CGI that was involved in this movie, it was not distracting at all. I really liked the use of it as it gave the Harvesters that ghostly feel and look. But once you found out the mystery of Ian Stone, the movie kind of feels a bit forced and goes Hollywood to please the masses, especially in the last half hour. But, this is a business about making money and The Deaths of Ian Stone would do just fine. Even with the feeling of movie being forced, this was still a very likable entry in the After Dark Horrorfest series. It even has the possbility of a good franchise if done correctly. Still not a horror movie, but pretty good nevertheless.
