When the trail goes cold on a murder investigation of a policeman an undercover narcotics officer is lured back to the force to help solve the case.
Rating:9/10 From the opening scene where Jason Patric shoots a pregnant women(accidentally) right to the very end of the film when the mystery of the cop killer is solved, Narc is a tension filled movie that doesn't let you go from it's grip. Ray Liotta and Jason Patric fit so well togehter in this. Liotta has a career best performance. His scenes dominate a movie by him being intimidating and brutal, but never being inhuman. The plot is taken right from most seventies cop movies where the lines are blurred between good cop and bad cop. I was surprised with the performance of Busta Rhymes. If you have seen him on other movies, you know he doesn't do all that great. But somehow all the right buttons were pushed and for the small screen time he was involved in, it sure was powerful stuff. The characters and the actors who played the characters really took center stage, and told a great story instead of just a bunch of action garbage. This movie will give you the feeling that you are involved in the movie. Hard to believe this movie didn't almost get made because they ran out of money in the middle of making this. To show you how Jason Patric and Ray Liotta thought of this movie, when the money wasn't coming in, they finished doing the movie for free because they liked the script and the director so much. Even Tom Cruise became an executive producer, becuase he felt that this movie needed a wider veiwing audience.
