A cab driver finds himself the hostage of an engaging contract killer as he makes his rounds from hit to hit during one night in LA. He must find a way to save both himself and one last victim.
Rating:7/10 I am usually not a big fan of Tom Cruise, but I thought he really carried this movie and carried it quite well. Originally, Adam Sandler was to play the part that Jamie Foxx eventually did, but Jamie Foxx did alright as well. But Cruise was the bad man. He didn't really seem to act, but envelop the role and it really shows. I even liked the look that Cruise had, graying his hair to look a little older. It was very refreshing to see him in another role that he can sink his teeth into. I usually don't give enough credit to directors as I should, but I must give a lot of credit to Micheal Mann. He kept the story pretty tight and kept me interested for the most part and the way he interwove the story between the two cops searching for the hitman and Cruise and Foxx in the cab was well done. The story is pretty simple and easy to kepp track of, but the ending was way to predictable. A decent thriller if you are looking for something different from Tom Cruise. With this role he was given, it sure was nice to see him do something different and really see him act.
