Five friends travel to a cabin in the woods, where they unknowingly release flesh-possessing demons.
Rating:8/10 This is a low budget masterpiece that has stood the test of time. To see what Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell did with little to no money is very amazing. Many movies today could take a lesson from this movie. It doesn't have any laughs, but the scares and the gore really add up. There were several scenes in which I was very uncomfortable watching, such as the tree rape and the pencil stab into someone's ankle(which was brutal). There was plenty of gore to go around. This movie came up with use of technologies that were invented for this film, which when you have hardly any budget, you practically have to come up with many different ideas of your own. Because of this, there was a great deal of tension built by the new use of cameras within this film. There are many shocking scenes that will stick with me. The acting was nothing great, even though Bruce was decent. But then again, I can't think of anything Bruce Campbell did that he gave less than a hundred percent. If you are looking for a great Halloween movie, this is the one to watch.
