An extremely well done Japanese horror(or J-Horror) movie that really builds up the tension by using the subtle scenes of the ghosts. The part with the truck driver in the begining was very creepy. I'm sure most of us could relate to him, as far as he was feeling as if there were eyes watching him. But of course in his case, there were. and it was a creepy feeling. The scene in the library, where the young woman sees all those ghosts in the library and then the hadns grabb her from behind and raise her in the air, also really brought a tension to the movie. You don't see what happens to her at all as she just disappears and you are left to your imagination. And that was just the begining as there were several creepy scenes through out this movie. That doll was very creepy. That was one of the more creepier dolls used in cinema today. But that doll was very creepy when it was slowly walking towards our lead. I really enjoyed the look of the ghosts in this movie. I guess that is where J-Horror does really well, is with the look of the ghosts. The other thing that J-Horror does really well is that they use psychological horror than the acts of physical violence itself. The ghosts of J-Horror just torment their victims mentally, but if you were to see Freddy, Jason, Chucky or Micheal, those characters use more of a physcial violence to their victims. The director, by doing that really confuses the audience so that they can relate to the lead, who was also as confused. The movie was really solid as it was a movie within a movie. It shouldn't be hard as it grabbed my attention right in the begining and it did not let go unitl the ending which was really good. It is a slow paced movie, but it is well worth it. It does pick up in the last twenty five minutes as you are finally given all the pieces to see what really happened and how it relates to reincarnation. And the way reincarnation tied the movie together, it was kind of shocking. It almost turns itself into a zombie movie. The ending was very creepy and disturbing. It is a very entertaining and a captivating movie. If you are looking for a psychological horror movie, than look no further than Reincarnation(Rinne).
