This was a movie that I've been wanting to see for some time now and for several reasons. I did watch the remake and that was so horrible. I figured I would like to see ther source material and see what they had to work with. Secondly, the man who directed this, Bob Clark, directed another Christmas classic movie. Anybody know what it is? Yep, it was a Christmas Story. Talk about going form one extreme to another. And lastly, this was to be considered one of the first slasher films. So I was looking forward to this. Thius wasn't too bad. The acting wasn't the greatest, but it was good enough. It wasn't overly gory, but the suspense was built up very well. The one problem that this had that the remake had was that the profanity seemed to be forced by the actresses. It just didn't seem to fit. I don't mind profanity in a movie, but if it feels forced, it feels wrong. The story was pretty simple, but the ending had a very nice twist to it. It wasn't the ending that I was expecting, but it was still a very good ending. Now, here is a piece of trivia for you. Halloween was actually supposed to be the sequel for this movie. Didn't work out that way, but this is still quite a treat for horror fans who really love the slasher genre.
