A mix of Dave Chappelle's sketch comedy and musical interludes, inspired in part by the 1973 documentary Wattstax.
Rating:7/10 A pretty funny and somewhat moving behind the scenes of a block party that Dave Chappelle put on for free. As far as the acts go, good quality acts for the show especially Mos Def and Talib Kweli all day. Dave Chappelle was on as much as I thought he would be, but when he was on he was pretty funny. Not only that, but he showed quite a human side that we normally don't get to see. He also showed how kind he really is. This looked like it would have been fun to attend as you could see everyone interacting with each and just having a great time, including the artist and Chappelle. One of the big complaints I have for this is that we don't see Chappelle enough. It looked as if Dave just wanted to showcase the acts he loves, and he did a good job with that, but I was just hoping for more Chappelle. not bad, a bit entertaining and at times, found myself bobbing my head, kicking back and anjoying the music.
