As much hype as there was for this movie, a seven is a disappointing score.  This was a movie I was looking forward to for awhile and even though I thought it was very good, I felt that it did not live up to its hype.  Daniel Day Lewis is an awesome actor.  Every time this guy is in a movie, he blows me away.  He is by far the best actor of our times.  And he gives a great performance in this movie.  When his costars are on screen with him, they also seem to elevate their game as well.  But was it just me or was DDL character the only one being developed through this whole movie?  For a movie that is two and a half hours long and DDL's character the only one being developed and everyone else's character just being there, it does tend to get a bit boring.  This movie was way too long.  for a movie to be this serious and to have the last half hour kind of dip the way it went, is just a shame.  I know the man has descended to madness, but it was a slow long ride.  I will say that this is a pretty good movie and it is worth the time to sit down and watch it.  Just make sure you have the time to do it.
