Rating:8/10 I went and seen the Gravedancers today at Horrorfest in Ashwaubenon. I was really suprised with this movie. When I heard the premise, I thought it was going to be kind of stupid, but was I wrong. The movie really centers on the marriage of Harris and Allison, but the other characters really play a pivotal role to the movie as well. I was pleasantly suprised by the acting of the cast members. They all brought their A game to the table for this movie. The movie starts off with a creepy atmosphere and with a feeling of dread all the way through, which doesn't let up and it really builds the tension until everything hits. When everything hits, it does get a bit predictable as to who is going to survive, but I thought they would have gotten the axe earlier. The ghosts that were violated were very freaky looking. And for me to say that, a veteran of horror movies, who is very desensitized, that is saying a lot. While the end was over the top, the CGI looked amazing. That was kind of freaky looking too, and with the way the hand was grabbing at Harris, I was totally blown out of the water. This was also a very original story. I mean it borrowed elements from other ghost stories, but the story to this was completely original. This is one of the better horror movies released this year.
