Rating:8/10 I did not expect much watching The Dark, but what I got was excellent. The tension wasn't built very well, this was a very creepy movie. The scenery was beautiful and creepy at the same time. The story was pretty good too, based on Welsh mythology. Sean Bean is a great actor. He is an underrated actor(see the Lord of the Rings trilogy). The only real problem I had with the movie, was that it came off too much like The Ring or Ringu. Sure, there were some differences, but it reminded me too much of those movies. I really didn't care much for Maria Bello either. The two little girls did a very good job in their respective roles as well. This is one that should've been released at the theater than some of those stinkers that actually get released, but alas, that is the way it goes anyways. This was still an underrated gem and worth a look on a spooky kind of night.
