A murder inside the Louvre and clues in Da Vinci paintings lead to the discovery of a religious mystery protected by a secret society for two thousand years -- which could shake the foundations of Christianity.
Rating:4/10 As much publicity as it got, the way I look at this movie is being over hyped. I was looking forward to watching the Da Vinci Code. I was looking forward to the mystery and the intrigue of this movie. What I found in this movie was pure blandness. I did like the visual effects to this. Those were actually really sweet. I also really enjoyed the flashback sequences. But when it came to the present, the movie just started plodding along again. The chase scenes that were supposed to raise tension, were mediocre at best. It wasn't thought provoking. Maybe if I read the book, then it would have been different for me as a thought provoking process. But from what I understand and really from what I can see, was that the translation of the book or something got lost in adapting this to the big screen. There didn't seem to be much chemistry between the cast. The dialogue between each other seemed wooden at best. Two people stood out. Sir Ian McKellan always stands out in any movie he does. I've always enjoyed watching anything with him as he makes the story a bit easier to swallow and does a great job of genuine acting. Paul Bettany did a great job with the Silas character as well. He really sank his teeth into the role of Silas. Great flashback sequence with him. But by the end of the movie, I was completely bored. I just couldn't get into it anymore and couldn't wait for it to be over.
