West of the Divide
1934 Starring John Wayne, Virginia Brown Faire, Gabby Hayes, Lloyd Whitlock, Yakima Canutt Not Rated 54 Minutes
Ted Hayden impersonates a wanted man and joins Gentry's gang only to learn later that Gentry was the one who killed his father. He saves Virginia Winters' dad's ranch from Gentry and also rescues his long-lost brother Spud.
Rating:5/10 Not a bad story starring John Wayne, but it is really nothing new that I haven't seen from him before. It is the same old fight scenes, the same old saving someone from a runaway carriage, the same infiltrating of the gang and finding out about the double cross. The editing and the sound was a horrible distraction to the movie as dialogue was cut and the music was horribly annoying. Still, the acting was alright and the little boy who played Spud was not annoying as some kids usually are.
