The scary thing about this movie is not the monsters on the outside. It is the monsters on the inside. Marcia Gay Harden was awesome as the religious fanatic who was terrifying the people on the inside. The rest of the cast was really good. Of course, Jeffrey DeMunn was in this as he has been in several Stephen King adaptations. He is also slowly starting to become one of my favorite actors as well. Thomas Jane was quite well in his role, but he seemed to have this Tom Arnold thing going. He looked like his younger and thinner brother many times. The CGI used in the begining of the film was horrible and looked very cartoonish. I found myself snickering at that a little bit, but the creatures were getting better looking as the film went on. My favorite character was Ollie, who was played by Toby Jones. I expect to see this guys name in more movies. Ollie was the nerdy type, who wasn't afraid to take charge and showed no fear. He also had some great lines and some great moments in this movie. The last fifteen minutes of the film though kept me glued to the screen. I just could not look away, even when I wanted to. The ending was quite a shocker. I was in disbelief as to what happened. Saying that, this was one of the better endings for a movie as it didn't end in typical crappy Hollywood fashion. It wasn't the ending that was in the story, but it was still an excellent ending. If you get a chance to see this, take that chance. This is one of the better horror movies that was released this year.
