This movie was a complete mess.  this was one I was looking forward to when I first heard that this was going to be made because I enjoyed most of the cast members that were in this movie.  I also really enjoyed Donnie Darko(one of my favorite movies).  I thought that this was going to be pretty good.  I liked the idea of the story.  So what went wrong.  I don't think it was the performaces as I thought the performaces were supposed to be over the top the way the characters were portrayed in this movie.  I mean, The Rock's performance really reminded me of the days back when he was a professional wrestler.  I enjoyed him then as well.  It was also kind of funny to see The Rock intimidated by Jon Lovitz.  I also liked Justin Timberlake as well.  I am not a big fan of his music, but the way he carried himself in this movie(and the hilarious soda commercal he is in).  I do believe that if Timberlake can keep up doing a decent job, he does have a career in films.  Sarah Michelle Gellar in a different kind of role that I wasn't used to seeing, but still decent.  I'm also a big fan of Jon Lovitz and Nora Dunn as well.  so what's the problem?  Pointless scenes over and over again.  Ridiculously bad dialogue.  Just real bad dialogue.  Even if this was kind of a spoof, this dialogue was really bad.  I think at times the actors and actresses were a distraction as well, because I recognized a lot of actors in small roles.  this was an enseble piece, that is for sure.  But the story was very rediculous and way too long.  The first half hour took way too long to develop and I fell asleep twice.  I almost gave up.  This was also quite boring as I almost fell asleep a third time and if I would have, I would have given up on this film.  Interesting idea, but executed badly with very horrible dialogue.  Don't waste your time.
