Rating:9/10 One of the creepiest movieI have ever seen, The Exorcist is a very slow movie that features a plot and carefully crafted characters. Many of the famous moments in the film are the ones that shocked an audience in 1973. Believe me, some of those things I've seenin the film have actually shocked me as well. The spidre walk actually gives me chills as I watched it happen. The movies resists going right into the good versus evil feel, as it shows Regan going through the nightmare seeing doctas and psychiatrists. The foggy night when Father merrin shows up to perform the exorcism really sets up the ominous mood for the showdown between the two preists and Satan. William Friedkin's direction in this movie is amazing as he uses light, dark and color through out the movie. Ellen Burstyn gives a brutally honest performance as a women trying to save he daughter. Max von Sydow and Jason miller were both amazing in their roles as the priests called to perform the exorcism. Linda Blair, her performance shows that she is probably one of the best child actors to have hever performed in a movie. The story starts off rather slowly but when it kicks in, you just can't take your eyes off screen. Great film.
