I am not really sure how to react to Steptoe and Son. Just for you people who might not know, this is the show that inspired Sanford and Son. It was on British telelvision for almost eleven years. So I was really looking forward to this movie, just to satisfy my curiosity. Now as far as the story goes, it was pretty basic, maybe a bit overdone and overblown. It seemed like a really long and at times boring episode, even though I've never seen the show. But there was some decent humor and I had several laugh out loud moments. You can see alot of the things that Fred Sanford and Albert Steptoe have in common, especially their deviousness. But I thought that this was going to be more of a comedy and it turned out to be more drmamtic than I thought, especially the way Harold Steptoe was portrayed. And again, a lot of the same qualities that Lamont Sanford had, you could see in Harold Steptoe, except for one. It seemed as if Harold was a lot more meaner than Lamont could be. But this was kind of funny, so it was not all bad and the acting was suprisingly good. Especially when Albert is taking his bath, and when someone sees him. That was gold. But I watched this more out of curiousity that had some entertainment value to it, but it really isn't worth the time.
