In 1966, Texas Western coach Don Haskins led the first all-black starting line-up for a college basketball team to the NCAA national championship.
Rating:7/10 Glory Road is a very socially important movie that is educational. The problem with sports movies is that they are so predictable and cliched, that sometimes it would get boring. But still, with the same formula, great acting(especially with Josh Lucas), great sports sequences and a unpatronizing message, sports movies will always be entertaining. Especially when they are based on true stories. And all of the above that was mentioned, made Glory Road a good and entertaining movie to watch. What amazes me, was the courage that those men faced in dealing with racist people and the hell that their lives were put through. From what I understand though was that the games were not all that close though and the scores were inaccurate and that bothers me sometimes. You take something and make it inacurate to sell the story more, and I don't think you need to do that. Just with the racism issues alone, you could sell this movie. Glory Roas is a fast dramatic, with a bit of comedy, entertaining movie. Enjoy it for what it is.
