This was a new direction for the Nightmare series.  It was much better than the last couple of movies, but that wasn't saying much at all.  It was kind of cool seeing some of the people who were in the first and third movies, some of the execs and Wes Craven play themselves.  The problem with this movie, was that it took so long to build up, that you lose interest in this.  My cousin was over watching this and he fell asleep.  Robert Englund did a good job as Freddy and it was nice seeing Wes Craven bringing Freddy back in a more serious role, rather than the horror joke he was turning into.
