Rating:4/10 I remember when I was a kid, I wouold come home from school, turn on the television, start my homework and watch Gilligan's Island on TBS. Ok that's a lie. I don't ever remember doing a lick of homework. But still I loved that show. Then the Gilligan's Island movies came out and I loved them. For me, I didn't care if they were good or not. There finally seemed to be some closure. Well, I kind of grew up and things have changed. And so did my view of this movie. Tina Louise wanted a ton of money to do this, so we ended up with someone who tried way too hard to be Tina Louise and overacted to the point she was unwatchable. The other thing that kind of lacked was the laugh track. I know that this was a movie, but the laugh track was something I was almost expecting every time I heard a joke. The story was decent as the castaways tried to fit back into society. But the Russian sub plot was to stupid. Mary Ann was still a doll. You know the old question because of this show. Ginger or Mary Ann? Well no contest here. The acting was pretty good, and I even got a couple of chuckles out of the last half hour. The first hour though, the cast seem pretty worn out, but the last half hour was pretty good. This is a movie though, that does bring back some good memories.
