Rating:2/10 How do you follow up a movie that caused the controversy and that was considered one of the scariest movies of all time? Well you sure don't do it by making The Exorcist II:The Heretic. What the hell was James Earl Jones doing in a locust suit? The director of this movie didn't even like the first, so what do you think they were trying to accomplish by that? Richard Burton couldn't remain sober for this movie. I didn't realize that he taught Keanu Reeves how to act. How bad was this? I laughed several times. When one of the guys helping Father Merrin fell down a crevice, it was painful to watch. Not the physical pain, but the what the hell is that kind of pain. The synchronizer was a very bad idea. The acting was the total opposite of the original movie. You couldn't feel the pain that the everyone was feeling. Richard Burton seemed as if he was made of stone. The only oine who did an adequate job was Linda Blair. And I say, just adequate. Exorcist II doesn't have the grim feelings. It is almost as if it decided to ignore the horror factor altogether. This movie is absolutely ignorant of the first film and the story line. The African scenery was very fake looking, but it still looked kind of beautiful. This was such a boring movie, I had a hard time staying awake. You might want to skip this stinker.
