Started off full of tension but it seemed to lose steam towards the middle of the movie. when it picked back up again, it was too late. Still this was a likable movie that did try to be scary, but it wasn't. Nothing shocking here. The acting was alright. Lori Heuring is very wrong for being the mother of the two girls. She looked like she was an older sister, not a mother to the two girls. They tried to explain it by her having one of the kids when she was sixteen, but still it didn't look right. She did do a decent job as well. Scout Taylor-Compton is so annoying. I'm not so sure if I want to see her in any movies any time soon. Chloe Moretz, at her young age, is starting to become a veteran of horror movies. She was in The Eye, Room 6, Hallowed Ground and the Amityville Horror. She was also excellent. Geoffrey Lewis is an awesome actor and it is too bad he only had a small role. He really played his role with subtlety. The kids who were zombies looked pretty creepy though. Mary was especially creepy when she smiled. To be honest, I hate kids in horror movies, as they seem to be little know it alls or they just don't work out well with the part. All the kids in this movie were excellent. No overacting, no annoyances, besides Scout Taylor-Compton. Didn't really care for the ending though.
