This is the right direction for the Leprechaun franchise.  This was more of a comedy that it was a horror.  True, it did have horror elements in it, but the comedy in this movie was pretty good.  It has to be with a name like "Leprechaun in the Hood".  But now before I start uplifting this movie too much, this still wasn't a great entertaining movie.  The acting, once again wasn't great, except for what seemed, a rejuvenated Warwick Davis.  Unlike part four, he once again got into character with full force and the rhymes he spouted off, just flowed like... um... poetry.  He was very funny.  The begining battle scene with Ice T, with a giant afro, was hilarious, the best part of the movie.  Now, I do like rap.  I like all music, but I do like rap.  What I didn't like was the rap in this movie.  It seemed way to generic, trying to come off sounding like it was supposed to be the best in the world.  Sorry, not really, not even close.  In most ways, it kind of detracted from the scenes, except the church scene was kind of funny.  The plot was kind of weak and swo was the ending byu the way, but we did get to see a rapping leprechaun, which was kind of cool.
