Two brothers travel to Germany for Oktoberfest, only to stumble upon secret, centuries-old competition described as a "Fight Club" with beer games.
Rating:7/10 When watching a movie called Beerfest, you know it is not going to be a great pice of cinematic art. But what you do expect is one helluva comedy. Beerfest delivers especially in a year where comedies are pretty weak. There were several laugh out loud moments and that is what I hope for when I go to see a comedy. After first my hopes were starting to fade in the begining though when Donal dSutherland was in this. Don't get me wrong about Donald Sutherland. He's a great actor, but he just looked wrong for the part. Cloris Leachman surprised me a great deal with her scenes. I always enjoy Kevin Heffernan the most from the Broken Lizard comedy group. He really put his all in, and at times reminds me of Chris Farley. Jay Chanrdasekhar was the funniest, even if he had all the perverted lines. He was hiularious when he was so drunk and thougth he was so cool. He even had the hilarious beer goggles on all around him. That was hilarious. It was still funny and irreverant. Beerfest is the kind of movie most beer drinkers can relate to one way or another. There are so many relatable scenes, especially in the training phases. Beerfest even has a decent story about two brotheres trying to put a team together to save the family name and get their birthright back. I will say this. After watching this movie, I need a cold beer.
