A historic Hollywood hotel houses a supernatural evil. It's been subdued for decades - but when renovations start, a series of murders take place. It's up to our heroine to solve the mystery.
Rating:5/10 The Toolbox Murders could have been something really good. But the impression I got was that the people who "reimagined" this film were lazy. First off, this was very boring. Why? Because it was not scary. Sure there was some gore, but It was pretty standard. Nothing new. They also tried making this into a mystery and that failed miserably as well. The mystery of this movie was so predictable that it made you feel like you were watching this with a ho hum attitude. One of the positives about this movie was the decent acting. Angela Bettis really carried this movie pretty well. Much better than I expected. I was suprised to see Juliet Landau in this. She is a pretty decent actress as well. The rest of the cast was alright. No standout performances, but they weren't that bad either. But when you have several plot holes that are left unanswered, that really doesn't help. This is a boring movie with decent acting as the only saving grace.
