Rating:7/10 If you like the X-Files, you should have no problem with The Mothman Prophecies, because it is like one long episode of the X-Files. This movie was based on events that happened in the late 60's, but was updated. Not sure why, but that doesn't take anything away from the story. Quite an acting job from Will Patton as he shows he is slowly losing his mind because of the creature Ingrid Cold. And Richard Gere did a pretty good job as well, and I'm not normally a fan of his. Laura Linney seemed miscast, but she was alright. There are several glimpses of the Mothman during the film, you just have to pay attention. And you also have to pay attention to the movie as well, or you could get lost. The film isn't that scary, but it does have a creepy vibe to it. The climax at the end was very drmatic, but once you figured it out, you say to yourself, "Aaah." Not a bad movie, more character driven than scares, but a bit enjoyable nonetheless.
