Five years since the senior citizens blasted off into space with the Antareans return to earth because their alien friends have to collect the rest of the cocoons in the ocean, believed to be in danger from an earthquake. Ben and Mary visit their family, while Art and Joe visit Bernie, who's still hangin' on. Art, Ben and Joe had forgotten what it was like on earth and immediately begin to feel their weaknesses, except for Art's wife who's pregnant! Meanwhile in the ocean, a biologist company snatched a cocoon out of the ocean and are doing research on it...
Rating:4/10 One of the things that stood out in the original was that it did have a bit of light humor involved. The sequel was rather humorless. The only time I ever chuckled during this movie was a line that Wilford Briley had and that was about that. They did try bringing humor into the movie, but it failed and did not elicit hardly any laughter from me. The aliens were also disappointing this time around as well. The aliens seemed unintelligent compared to the last movie and Brian Dennehy only showed up around the end. This movie just had many weak moments, and that is what makes this movie very forgettable. The cast was still pretty good, but their acting could not save the dryness of the movie. This was not a good idea to do a sequel and was a waste of time.
