The Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin:The Untold Story
2005 Starring Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Mila Kunis, Drew Barrymore, Adam West Unrated 88 Minutes
The major sub-plot circles around the youngest Griffin, Stewie, who has a near-death experience at a pool when a lifeguard chair falls on him, but he survives. After having a vision of being in Hell, he decides to change his ways, but this doesn't last long. While watching television, he and Brian spot a man that looks like Stewie. Brian is convinced that he is Stewie's real father, until Stewie learns that the man is actually himself as an adult, taking a vacation from his own time period. Baby Stewie visits thirty years later to discover that his adult self, going by the name Stu, is a single blue-collar middle-aged virgin working at a Circuit City-type store. Meanwhile, Peter and Lois are trying to teach their two older kids, Meg and Chris, to date. In the future, Chris, who hasn't changed much, is working as a cop and is married to a foul-mouthed hustler named Vanessa. Meg is now called Ron, since she had a sex-change after college.
Rating:6/10 In many ways, this was a God send to many fans of Family Guy. Family Guy was off the air because it went up against Survivor and Friends, two of Americas most watched TV shows. but there were still the hardcore fans and when the episodes were released on DVD, many people realized how great this show was. Me included. I just didn't watch the show because I worked nights. What Seth MacFarlane did was take three episodes that didn't make it to air and tied the episodes together with a common idea of Stewie and a near death experience. As far as the story goes, this was weak. A lot weaker than it should have been because it had potential. What really saved this movie was the hilarity and the offensiveness of the jokes. Family Guy can be an offensive television show, but the movie took it up another level, which actually made it funnier. If it wasn't for the jokes being as funny as they were, this would have been a disaster. I also really like the hilarious flashbacks, which is a staple of the Family Guy episodes. Still, I'm glad that Family Guy is back on the air, as this is an underrated and underappreciated show.
