Friday the 13th Part VIII:Jason Takes Manhattan
1989 Starring Jensen Daggett, Barbara Bingham, Kane Hodder, Kelly Hu Rated R 100 Minutes
A passing boat bound for New York pulls Jason along for the ride. Look out New York, here comes hell in a hockey mask.
Rating:2/10 This is one of the worst movies in thye series so far. This movie came across very cheap. The acting was not so good and that is saying something for these movies as well. There was a couple of funny scenes, especially when Jason smashes a boombox and some street kids are getting ready to pounce on him. He just lifts up his mask and they run off. Very very funny. Another scene that sticks out, is when the boxer is on top of the roof of a building and he keeps punching and punching Jason until his knuckles are so bloody. He then tells Jason to take his best shot, and Jason punches his head right off. The people who made this movie, actually shoudl get in trouble for the false advertisement. You only see Jason in New York for the last twenty minutes of the film. Many people, including myself, were led to believe that a good chunk of the movie would take place in good old New York City. But it wasn't. I mean, this was a good idea to take Jason out of Camp Crystal Lake, because EVENTUALLY, kids would stop going there for fear of being killed, so Jason would have to adapt for his killings. It certainly would have made the movie more interesting to see Jason creeping around New York. The part were the girl kept seeing Jason all around here as the little boy, was incredibly stupid. oh well, stupidity all around!
