This could've been an excellent sequel to Thje Mummy's Hand, but there were some things involved in this one that I didn't particularly care for. But then, there were also some things that I did enjoy. Wallace Ford and Dick Foran returned to their characters thirty years later in the story. Tom Tyler did not reprise his role as the mummy, but horror icon Lon Chaney Jr. took it over. Chaney was excellent in this role, even though it was a role he hated to do. This movie went towards a different direction and I did like that. This was more of a horror movie as the creature turned into more of a killing machine trying to kill the Banning family line and anyone else who helped disturb the tomb of Ananka. There was hardly any comic relief to try and break any tension that was built up. The one thing I really disliked was that the first eleven minutes of the movie was old footage, retelling the story of The Mummy's Hand. It wouldn't have been so bad, but this movie was an hour long. Not a bad movie, but not as fun as The Mummy's Hand. Still worth watching as I did enjoy this as there was some decent atmosphere from the mummy stalking his victims as this became more of a horror film in the series.
