This was such a pleasant suprise. I wasn't expecting the accuracy, the budget, or even the well known quality actors that were involved with this. This was one of the morer accurate movies based off the Bible that I have ever seen. Many times, you see movies from the Bible that are so chopped up and dissected and artistic license is used for these stories. It also made me remember my days of Sunday school when I went to church and heard of the many stories of Abraham. Of course there were ones that I had forgotten as well. The scene were Lot was leaving Sodom with his family and I had myself glued to the screen, especially knowing what was going to happen. It even had a line I really liked. "I thought that God had abandoned me, but no. You see, I had abandoned God." That line really put alot of things in perspective for me, especially with all that is going on in the world today. I was also surprised at how well this movie looked. The sets and the costumes and the make up jobs that were done to the characters as we seen them looking younger and watching them age. And what a cast. Led by Richard Harris and Barbara Hershey, this was so well acted and the internationally well known cast really brought life to these characters. The movie was quite long and at times it seemed as if it was dragging a bit. But then with some of the stories that were told, it really would pick up the pace. Well done movie that I really enjoyed watching.
