The Best and Worst of What I Watched in 2006
These are the best and the worst of the movies that I have watched in 2006. This list also has my biggest suprises and my biggest disapoinments of what I have watched.
My Biggest Disapointments 10. A History of Violence 6/10 I was expecting a lot more from this. It was boring, bland and predictable.
9. Inside Man 6/10 Denzel Washington in a snoozefest. Jodie Foster was a waste.
8. Texas Chainsaw Massacre:The Begining 3/10 For a movie that was on 84 minutes long, it felt like three hours. Everyone was annoying.
7. Wolf Creek 2/10 Very anticlimatic, and for the first 50 minutes, nothing happened.
6. The Brothers Grimm 3/10 What seemed like a funny and action packed movie, turned nothing out except a dud.
5. Firewall 5/10 Harrison Ford doing nothing new. So predictable, you know when and how the twists take place.
4. Silent Hill 5/10 A very dry and boring movie. Cool CGI though.
3. The Village 3/10 A very boring movie that anyone could've figured out within fifteen minutes
2. Black Christmas 3/10 The acting was so bad. It looked painful trying to convey emotion. Half the movie trailer that looked good wasn't even in the movie. Very confusing backstory and flashback sequences.
1. Death Tunnel 1/10 What seemed like a greeat idea, and a great trailer, had very bad camerawork, horrible flashback sequences and a rip off of House on Haunted Hill. Based on a real place in Kentucky.
My Biggest Suprises 10. Storm of the Century 9/10 Frightening scenes and a great idea. The biggest strenght this movie had was the mystery of Andre Linoge.
9. Brick 8/10 A great mystery that was well done and unbelievable. A rated R movie that doesn't have one swear in it.
8. Haunted 9/10 Another great mystery as to what really is happening. Near perfect ending.
7. Santa's Slay 6/10 A hilarious horror comedy that had such low expectations. Bill Goldberg was also a big suprise. Very funny stuff!
6. Mute Witness 8/10 The first half hour is very intense, you care as to what happens to this character through out the rest of this movie. Great idea!
5. Incident On and Off A Mountain Road 10/10 A great slasher with a shocking ending.
4. Red Eye 9/10 So much action and tension. So well acted. Amazing job by Wes craven trying something different.
3. The Ringer 9/10 A unique comedy in which there was a great deal of chemistry. Has a great amount of heart. Marketed wrongly.
2. Feast 9/10 A movie that grabs your attention and never lets go. Turns horror movie cliches upside down!
1. Slither 9/10 This movie rocks. A great pace, extremley humorous and original. Tried to avoid this, but was dragged out to see this. Marketed very badly. Awesome movie.
Worst Movies I Watched This Year 10. Python 2 1/10 Bad acting, bad script. Horrible CGI.
9. The Zodiac Killer 1/10 So boring, I could barely keep my head up.
8. In the Woods 1/10 So low budget, it was embarassing. The acting was so bad, these people should be ashamed.
7. Leprechaun 4:In Space 1/10 Anything in space is bad for horror icons. Nobody looked like they wanted to do this.
6. Police Academy:Mission to Moscow 1/10 A comedy without humor. Not one laugh in this horribly flawed movie.
5. Bloodthirst:Legend of the Chupacabra 1/10 Haven't seen one good movie about chupacabras yet. This is the worst of the worst.
4. Open Water 1/10 Based on a true story. What a bunch of crap. Boring dull movie. Way over hyped!
3. Reign in Darkness 1/10 Poorly made movie. Poorly acted.
2. Troll 2 1/10 So boring, bad special effects, not a good thing to say about this.
1. BTK Killer 1/10 The worst movie I have ever seen. I couldn't even finish this and that is a first. Had to stop after a half hour.
The Best Movies I Watched in 2006 10. As Good As It Gets 10/10 Jack Nicholson at his best. A very funny and heartwarming movie.
9. They Live 10/10 An action packed version of the Twilight Zone with the best fight scene ever in movie history.
8. Walk the Line 10/10 A great biography of the man in black, Johnny Cash. Amazing music that the actors had to learn to play and sing themselves.
7. Stir of Echoes 10/10 Kevin Bacon does an amazing job in this ghost story with some very creepy scenes. Had to compete with The Sixth Sense and Blair Witch and was the better of the three.
6. Identity 10/10 A really cool and strange mystery. One of the best twists in cinema history.
5. Super Troopers 10/10 One of the most funny and irreverent movies that I've seen this past year.
4. Shaun of the Dead 10/10 A great horror comedy with some suprising acting and some suprising heart felt moments. Very funny as well. Many laugh out loud moments.
3. Night of the Living Dead 10/10 I seen this movie for the first time when I was a kid and it still gives me nightmares to this day. Well acted and actually scary.
2. Evil Dead 2 10/10 The Three Stooges in a horror movie carried admirably by Bruce Campbell. Every noise and sound is givne credibility and makes this movie even more creepier. Highly entertaining.
1. Borat:Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan A movie like no other. As soon as this movie started, so did the laughter. I could not stop laughing. This is the funniest and braves movie I have ever seen. This is the best movie I have watched in 2006 and probably the most entertaining movie I have ever seen.
