Rating:6/10 This was kind of a fun movie to watch as you see John Wayne teaming up with Oliver Hardy. This is the main reason to watch this movie as the pair had excellent chemistry with each other. Though not suprisingly, these two were really good friends. It took John Wayne a long time to convince Oliver Hardy to take the role because of Hardy's loyalty to Stan Laurel. The film has several comci moments between the two as Wayne does a great job as the straight man, and Hardy on the other hand shows that he does have acting chops and does quite well when the time for him to be dramatic comes up. The third member of this equation in this movie is Vera Ralston, in which John Wayne had the opposite feelings for her that he did for Oliver Hardy. Wayne did not want her for this picture as he felt the quality of the picture went down. The reason she got the role was because she was dating the head guy at Republic pictures. But I thought that Wayne had a decent chemistry with her as well, suprisngly with as well as they got along. The film was decent, but with the way the story was going, this could have been longer and explained better. It seemed as if there was too many villians and the ending seemed as if ti was really rushed too fast, which kind of took some of the enjoyment out of the movie. But it was still fun to watch even as predictable as it was and one that I could watch again.
