Five friends visiting their grandpa's old house are hunted down and terrorized by a chainsaw wielding killer and his family of grave-robbing cannibals.
Rating:8/10 This is really the kind of horror movie you really can't mentally prepare yourself for. This is the torture movie that started all the torture movies. This is the movie that will give you real shocks and will keep you in awe as to what is happening onscreen. When you really watch this though, there is quite a lack of gore on the part of the movie. As Leatherface is killing people, the camera is cut away and is focused on Leatherface as you can see the blood splattering onto his face as he is hacking away or using the chainsaw on the poor unsuspecting kid. You only really catch a little bit of the aftermath of the victims as well, as you are to use your imagination, and with a chain saw wielding maniac, the imagination can run wild. This movie will not compromise what it is. A movie with a weak story, but a sensory overload. The tension just keeps building all the way to the last scene with Leatherface doing his whirly dance. A very unforgettable movie that has spawned three sequels, two remakes and countless imitators at the torture genre, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is something that6 should be experienced and enjoyed with the lights out.
